The Zumba Fitness Workout
The Zumba Fitness workout does not involve jumps and hard landings, the way traditional cardio workouts do. Instead, Zumba gets the heart pumping with its fast-paced Latin dance steps. The steps are often side-to-side motions, which require that the foot be held in place.
When I first started doing the Zumba fitness workout, I made the mistake of doing the workout barefoot. I was doing it in the privacy of my home, so there were no instructors to tell me what I should be wearing. Since the workout wasn't high-impact, I thought my body was safe. I was wrong. Within a couple of days, my feet ached so badly that I needed to take ibuprofen upon waking each morning.
